بلان العالميه تحتفل باليوم العالمي للفتيات

Plan International Sudan calls for support for girls’ activism during any crisis, and for their participation in all choices affecting their lives during the Sudanese crisis, on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl 2023. #EqualPowerNow
Sudan: 11 October,2023
Every year on October 11, the International Day of the Girl Child (IDG) is observed to recognize the rights of girls and the particular discriminations they encounter around the world. IDG focuses on the need to address the issues that girls confront, to support girls’ empowerment, and to ensure that their human rights are upheld.
Under the theme “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-Being,” the United Nations is urging duty bearers everywhere to fulfil their responsibility in preventing and upholding girls’ rights.
In line with the current emergency humanitarian situation, Plan International Sudan’s 2023 IDG theme, “Girls Stand Strong During Emergencies” , Yes She Can, is being promoted by focusing on Equal Power and Equal Representation. This empowers and increases the capacity of youth (girls and boys) and enables girls by ensuring that they know their right during emergencies. also make boys understand the issues facing girls and helps them to overcome them. Eventually, all youth will be able to lead and become decision makers to create high impact changes for themselves, their peers, their communities and the next generation.
On this IDG, we cannot forget the girls who are still trying to protect themselves, families and communities and make a difference in Khartoum, Darfur, and Kordofan and who are struggling every single day to support their families, friends, and communities. These girls and young women, led the emergencies committees and supported each other as well as survivors in the IDPs centres, in different parts of the country.
Throughout this IDG and beyond, we will assist the girls in keeping themselves safe from all forms of GBV, in providing psychosocial support, in developing their leadership skills, and in involving them in peace-building initiatives.
One of our core ambitions in this crisis is “Vulnerable children, especially girls, live in resilient communities and have free and safe access to life-saving services during and after natural disasters and conflict”
Plan International Sudan’s has explicit influencing, communication and advocacy programming to support children and youth, particularly girls and young women to enjoy their right to protection and gender equality in humanitarian and development settings, so that all children, all girls and young women can learn, lead, decide and thrive.

About Plan International

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion, and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected. So, working together with children, young people, supporters, and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national, and global levels using our reach, experience, and knowledge. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years and are now active in more than 75 countries.
